CORRELATION BETWEEN SPT AND PMT RESULTS FOR SANDY AND CLAYEY SOILS

چکیده

Determination of soil deformation and strength properties is great importance in geotechnical design. The disturbance that occurred during the sampling from field affects results obtained by laboratory tests. Therefore, lack representation conditions in-situ features with tests leads designers to carry out Standard penetration test (SPT) Menard pressuremeter (PMT) are most widely used which utilized investigate lateral characteristics at a specified depth. In this study, total 102 data sandy clayey soils belonging investigations carried Istanbul were compiled. regression analysis between corrected SPT blow count N60, modulus EPMT, limit pressure PL EPMT/PL ratio performed. Empirical equations separately developed for considered parameters. showed there acceptable relationships parameters examined particular dataset. Moreover, neural network (NN) based prediction model was predict EPMT using available data. highly accurate performance proposed demonstrated availability modern methods estimation
